reflexology

Reflexology was the start of my career and continuing interest in complementary therapies. After qualifying in 1999 following training with the leading International Institute in reflexology (IIR), further study and practice has covered a wide range of reflexology techniques that I can employ to create a unique Reflexology treatment plan to suit individual needs.

This includes the use of reflexology in maternity and cancer care. And, as a Nutritional Therapist, combining reflexology with a nutrition programme can prove to be far more beneficial than the individual therapies alone.

reflexology
what is reflexology?....

Reflexology is a complementary therapy widely accepted in the UK and recognised by the NHS, many GP’s and hospices. It involves the application of pressure to specific points, known as reflexes, on the feet and hands to encourage the body to heal from within. The therapy is based on the principle that the feet and hands contain 'mini-maps' of the whole body and that by applying pressure using the fingers or thumbs a reflexologist can have a positive effect on the corresponding parts of the body. Reflexology works directly on over 7000 nerve endings in the feet using specific pressure points to calm the nervous system, relieve stress and allow you to relax.

Research has found that reflexology is not only beneficial as a tool for relaxation and stress relief, but it is also an effective tool for improving circulation; relieving pain, detoxification, recovering from surgery, and as an immune and nervous system stimulator.  The treatment is non-invasive, simple, safe and effective. It benefits all age groups and has helped many people suffering from a wide variety of health conditions including:

PMT             Sinusitis       Asthma              Insomnia
Menopause   Anxiety        Depression         Migraine
